Restorative yoga is simply that – restorative. It is all about slowing down and opening your body through passive stretching, centering of your breath and body, and aligning the physical and mental by practicing stillness or gentle movement for extended periods of time, often up to ten or twenty minutes.

During the long holds of restorative yoga your muscles are allowed to relax deeply, allowing for the nervous system to downshift from a "fight, flight or freeze” response into a "rest and digest” relaxation response.

It’s a unique feeling because props (blankets, bolsters, blocks), rather than your muscles, are used to support your body.

Restorative classes are very mellow, making them a good complement to more active practices and an excellent antidote to stress and the demands of a busy life. You may only do four or five poses over the course of an entire class.

These classes are deeply nourishing and soothing and are a wonderful way to welcome in the weekend from a place of calm and inner spaciousness.

$25 per class.
